EXPERIENCE OUR HERITAGE
Step into over a millennium of living history at Château de Lucq, a former Benedictine abbey nestled in the village of Lucq-de-Béarn. Founded in 970 CE on ancient sacred ground, this extraordinary site has witnessed royal diplomacy, religious upheaval, and acts of wartime resistance all while serving as a beacon of sanctuary and culture. Lovingly preserved by the same family for nine generations, the château is now undergoing careful restoration in partnership with the French Ministry of Culture to ensure its legacy endures. Visitors are invited to explore its cloister, refectory, and medieval tower, where time seems to pause and the spirit of the place speaks. Whether you come for quiet reflection, architectural discovery, or cultural events, Château de Lucq offers an experience rooted in timeless values: continuity, courage, and care.

ABOUT
CHÂTEAU DE LUCQ
Known today as Château de Lucq, the Abbaye Saint Vincent is a thousand-year-old sanctuary in Lucq-de-Béarn, honored as a national monument by the French Ministry of Culture. Originally founded as a Benedictine monastery and later administered by the Barnabites, it has served as a place of worship, diplomacy, refuge, and family life for over ten centuries. Passed down through nine generations, it remains a rare example of living heritage where sacred history, rural beauty, and family stewardship continue to shape a timeless experience.

RENOVATION & RESTORATION
In 2025, we are restoring the historic façades and roofs of the Abbaye Saint Vincent to safeguard its thousand-year legacy and renew its role as a vital cultural, architectural, and communal landmark. Guided by heritage experts and supported by the French Ministry of Culture, this restoration ensures that the abbey remains a living monument, resonant with history, yet ready to serve future generations.
